Boost for women in equal pay fight

Thousands of low paid women have been given permission to proceed with their equal pay claims against Glasgow City Council.

The council had appealed a ruling by the Employment Appeal Tribunal that it had continued to discriminate against women through the introduction of payment protections upholding the earnings of male colleagues following an initial wave of equal pay awards.
