Casey to leave government after two decades

Senior civil servant Dame Louise Casey has announced she will be leaving government in the summer after an 18-year Whitehall career.

President of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives, Jo Miller, described her as the ‘stand out civil servant of her generation and a great friend to local government’.

Local Government Association chief executive, Mark Lloyd, tweeted: 'For passion & impact, Louise Casey is Number 1.'
