Council wins battle with sex shop chain over licensing

Westminster City Council has won a key victory in its five-year battle over the level of fees that councils can charge licenced premises.

The Supreme Court last week ruled that Westminster is entitled to receive up to £1.3m it repaid to licence applicants in June 2013 after years of confusion over the legal treatment of enforcement costs.
