Ministers could be forced to take over the running of Lancashire CC this Parliament if they do nothing to address the council’s bleak financial situation, the council’s finance spokesman has warned.
An independent report by consultant PwC yesterday predicted the council’s reserves, which are currently being used to prop up statutory services, would dry up within two years.
