Just one in four people living in what chancellor George Osborne calls the Northern Powerhouse region are optimistic the project can deliver on its promises, a poll has found.

The results of a survey by pollsters IPSOS Mori, published exclusively in The MJ today, also revealed that more than three in four people knew ‘little' or ‘nothing' about devolution.
