Council leaders have warned the Government’s new pay to stay policy will generate ‘nowhere near the financial return’ originally promised.
The Local Government Association (LGA) said the policy to increase social tenants rents by an average of £1,000 for households earning more than £40,000 in London and £31,000 in the rest of England will be costly for councils to implement.
