Newcastle City Council is facing legal action over a data leak that exposed the personal details of thousands of adopted children and their parents.
Sunderland-based law firm Ben Hoare Bell has been instructed to act over the alleged unlawful disclosure of names, addresses and birth dates of adopted children.
