PM urged to tackle ‘social care crisis’

An ex-health secretary has called on the prime minister to intervene in the social care crisis after it was ignored in the Autumn Statement.

Speaking at a conference yesterday, Labour’s candidate for Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham said the chancellor’s failure to mention social care ‘left many people speechless’ and suggests ‘he and the Government simply don’t grasp how dire this situation is’.
