SOLACE Summit: Sector 'stuffed' without fiscal devolution

Local government will be ‘stuffed’ if it fails to secure further fiscal devolution beyond 100% business rates retention, a combined authority chief executive has said.

West Midlands Combined Authority boss Martin Reeves told the Society of Local Authority Chief Executive summit today that the deal with government he helped secure featured ‘virtually no fiscal devolution’.
