Measures to cut hospital admissions in Birmingham and Solihull could shunt costs from the NHS onto social care and further exacerbate the ‘immediate’ funding crisis, a council report has warned.
According to a paper to Birmingham City Council’s health, wellbeing and environment committee, social care was ‘incidental’ to the Birmingham and Solihull sustainability and transformation plan (STP), which is led by the council’s chief executive, Mark Rogers.
