Devolution of public spending and tax-raising powers to county councils would boost England’s economy and lift it back to pre-Brexit growth rates, new research has suggested.
A report by Oxford Economics, commissioned by the County Councils’ Network (CCN), warned that England’s growth rate was expected to slow to under 2% annually over the next decade due to Brexit.
