£20m cash boost announced for designated Brexit officers

By Heather Jameson | 05 August 2019

All councils will need to have a lead officer on Brexit as the government steps up its preparations for a no-deal.

Communities secretary Robert Jenrick announced an £20m funding to help councils prepare in the run up to the 31 October deadline. Mr Jenrick said councils had a ‘vital role’ in making Brexit successful and it was ‘absolutely right that together we intensify preparations in every community’.
