Audit firms look overseas amid shortage

Audit firms are having to resort to recruiting overseas to fill public sector vacancies because of low levels of interest within the UK.

The move comes after 210 (43%) audit opinions on 2018/19 statements of accounts missed the end of July target date – up from about 13% on the year before, when the figure was 64.
