CCN conference: Councils face the blame for care cost rises, says Reed

As tax goes up and social care services remain underfunded, councils will be blamed, shadow communities’ secretary Steve Reed has claimed.

Hitting out at the Government’s plans for a National Insurance rise – and the social care precept – to pay for the NHS backlog and social care pressures, the Labour spokesman said tax was at its highest for 70 years.
