Cable: Commercial forays utterly bizarre

The leader of the Lib Dems has said it is ‘utterly bizarre’ that councils are buying up commercial investments miles from their areas.

Sir Vince Cable, a former Glasgow city councillor, described the use of the Public Works Loan Board for this purpose as an ‘abuse of borrowing’.
