Capital’s sub-regions fight for cash streams

London sub-regions are struggling to get central government to take them seriously as they battle to get funding streams devolved, The MJ has learned.

Alison Griffin, representing the Society of London Treasurers, told a recent finance conference that the Treasury and other government departments were happy to deal with the mayor but were ‘finding it quite hard to deal with us on a sub-regional basis’.
