Challenge Government data, NAO tells chief execs

Local authorities should challenge data and analysis put forward by the Government, the comptroller and auditor general of the National Audit Office (NAO) has said.

Speaking to chief executives at the annual Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) conference in Manchester, Sir Amyas Morse said that councils should not be passive recipients of government data, but should question it.
