Christchurch mulls ‘Chrexit’ referendum on borough merger

Potential for a referendum on whether Christchurch BC should remain separate or merge with other Dorset authorities - dubbed 'Chrexit' - will be discussed by councillors next week.

The plans, which will be discussed by councillors at a specially convened meeting on Tuesday next week, follows preliminary approval for two new unitary authorities in Dorset from the Government.
