Civic leadership has become undervalued and unappreciated

March seems to be the season of the evening dinner here in South Lakeland. Chains are suitably shiny and the outfits are just as impressive.

I have talked about civic leadership over the years and how I believe this is fundamental to the prosperity, confidence and image of a place or locality. I also believe the role has become undervalued and unappreciated in a number of ways.
