Civil service strike threat

Hundreds of civil servants working on a pioneering civil service shared service initiative spread across the country are taking part in a ballot over industrial action.

Staff working for the Shared Services Connected Limited (SSCL) and the Ministry of Justice in nine sites – Alnwick, Bootle, Blackpool, Cardiff, Newcastle, Newport, Leeds, Sheffield and York – have received ballot papers from the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS).
