Combined authority rejects mayor's power grab

Plans to transfer control of policing to the West Midlands Mayor have been scrapped following a vote by the combined authority.

Despite public support, the proposal put forward by Conservative mayor Andy Street was rejected by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
