Commissioner to be appointed at Bradford

The Government is to appoint a commissioner to oversee improvements to children’s services at Bradford City Council after questioning whether leaders have ‘sufficient grip’.

The notice to improve issued to the council after the service’s inadequate Ofsted rating in 2018 has been upgraded to a statutory direction after the Government decided progress was too slow.
