‘Consider social value as well as budgets’

Local authorities should award contracts based on the social value delivered to the community instead of only considering budgets and timeframes, a new report has suggested.

The Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) worked in collaboration with procurement officers in local government for 10 years to find out what could be changed to improve the value of contracts to the community.
