Council concern over falling child referrals

Councils have expressed concerns about falling referrals to children’s social care amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Referrals to children’s social care have fallen by more than half in many areas despite The Children’s Society charity warning that the crisis had increased many of the risks facing already facing vulnerable youngsters.
