Council finding it 'harder to identify and deliver savings'

Knowsley MBC is finding it ‘harder to identify and deliver savings’ given the scale of Government funding cuts, senior councillors will be told next week.

The council claims it has been the ‘hardest hit’ local authority in terms of Government funding cuts since 2010, with £100m slashed from the money it can spend, forcing it to reduce staff at the town hall by a third.
