Council officer 'misled' over Grenfell insulation

A building control officer has told the Grenfell Inquiry he was ‘misled’ into certifying insulation used on the tower as suitable for high-rise blocks.

David Jones, a senior surveyor at Herefordshire CC in 2008, said that Kingspan’s K15 insulation – one of the types installed at Grenfell before the fatal fire – was of ‘limited combustibility’ while certifying it for Local Authority Building Control (LABC).
