Council-run developer defends closure decision amid whistleblowing claims

The Northumberland Council-run developer at the centre of whistleblowing allegations has defended a decision that has led to a multi-million pound legal claim.

Farrans, the contractor on a £30m energy park, has launched a claim for losses after Advance Northumberland halted most work in late March amid the COVID-19 pandemic – before the Government ordered work to cease on construction sites.
