Council slams multi-academy trusts' lack of accountability

Wakefield City Council has criticised the lack of accountability of academy trusts after an organisation that managed 21 schools in the city pulled out of its role.

The Wakefield City Academies Trust said that the trust can no longer deliver the improvement that is required and that the Department for Education (DfE) should find a new trust for the schools.
