Councils can learn from firms

Councils need to learn from the private sector if they want to develop commercialisation initiatives, according to a local authority chief executive with knowledge of the field.

Harlow DC boss Malcolm Morley warned not all councils had the ‘ability to be sellers of products and services in the market or to acquire and manage commercial assets for profit’.
