Councils defy Government lockdown easing

The public is being told to ‘stay at home’ in some areas of the country, despite the Government’s easing of coronavirus lockdown rules nationally.

Gateshead MBC is among those urging people to heed the ‘stay at home’ message, which has been dropped by Downing Street in favour of ‘stay alert’.
