Councils to receive cyber probe

One in 10 councils will be offered ‘penetration testing’ of their cyber security arrangements to ‘identify and potentially remediate’ vulnerabilities. 

Councils that choose to take part in the trial will undergo a test - worth tens of thousands of pounds each - approved by the National Cyber Security Centre, the UK’s independent authority on cyber security.
