Councils welcome SNP-Green deal

Councils have welcomed a deal between Holyrood finance secretary Derek Mackay and Scottish Greens, which claimed they had secured £170m extra cash for local authorities.

The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) said Mr Mackay’s announcement of a real terms increase in investment for councils put the sector in an ‘improved position over that of the proposed settlement in December’.
