Credit where it’s due

Councillors hold an office that few of their voters understand, care much about, or feel that they would miss if it were gone. Indeed many, including politicians at other levels and some councillors themselves, would like to see fewer and fewer councillors across the country.

We are currently in the grip of an anti-councillor public mood, which some are capitalising on to further undermine the office and those that hold it.
