Marsham Street’s most senior civil servant has admitted the department could be more structured in its engagement with the rest of Whitehall.
A National Audit Office (NAO) report in March said the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) did not have ‘structured engagement’ with departments other than the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Social Care.
