Devolution key to tackle climate change

Devolution is crucial to unlocking the potential of local government to play its part in tackling climate change, new reports published this week have concluded.

West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and London Mayor Sadiq Khan are among the figures who have demanded more powers and funding for local government in the report by conservation charity the World Wide Fund for Nature and IPPR think-tank, which called for a ‘just transition’ to a zero-carbon economy.
