A think-tank has called on ministers to further embrace local government devolution in order to level up the economic fortunes of the country.
In a new report, the Centre for Policy Studies called for greater devolution of powers, funding and responsibility, as well as a ‘base level’ offer across the country to spread prosperity beyond the south-east and London.
