Directors call for £1bn emergency funding

Councils could fail to meet to meet their statutory duties without ‘emergency’ government funding of £1bn, adult social care directors have warned.

The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) said the cash should go directly into councils’ 2017/18 budgets, distributed on a needs-based formula.
