Districts should welcome Sunday trading powers

One of the policy announcements in the Summer Budget was a proposal to devolve decision-making on Sunday opening hours for larger shops.

The chancellor seems to have mangled his lines a little as he referred to giving ‘more power to counties and to our new mayors’.

He must have meant councils.
