EXCLUSIVE: No Whitehall standstill despite coronavirus

Whitehall officials have insisted that they want to make progress with other government business despite the coronavirus crisis.

The deadline for local government financial audits has been pushed back by two months, routine Care Quality Commission and Ofsted inspections have been suspended and the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman will not take new complaints.
