Edinburgh to be hit by costs after damning reviews

Edinburgh City Council faces ‘significant ongoing costs’ to implement recommendations from independent investigations into the handling of historic child abuse allegations and poor councillor behaviour.

A paper to be considered by the full council this week details additional staffing costs alone of £1.75m in 2022-23, £2m in 2023-24 and £1.8m annually in later years.
