The Government’s latest attempts to crack down on exit payments have been branded as over-regulation which will hit lower paid staff more than the senior officials it was aimed at.
Plans to restrict payments to £95,000 have been released, which will need secondary legislation, without a date for implementation. Under the new rules, exemptions have been extended to cover unfair dismissal and discrimination in addition to the original plans to exempt whistle-blowing.
