Fewer services for more council tax

In recent weeks the chancellor has issued several warnings about the strength of the UK economy. 

For local government the subtext is that the sector will continue to face significant financial challenges in the medium-term and growing the local tax base – both council tax and business rates – will be critical if services are going to be funded beyond 2020.
