The existing approach of competitive funds for levelling up isn’t working for coastal communities, a council chief has told Future Forum North (FFN).
A ministerial portfolio for coastal communities along with a national strategy and evidence-based interventions would help with levelling up, said chief executive of South Tyneside MBC Jonathan Tew.
