Getting on with the job

Rotherham has had a ‘good couple of weeks’ according to chief executive Sharon Kemp.

The crisis-hit council, which has been the subject of a wide-scale government intervention, has been quietly getting on with its improvement journey. Not only has it been praised in the latest monitoring report by Ofsted, but the Government has also handed back a large proportion of its powers – just six areas remain under the control of commissioners.
