Enemies of equality and fairness hear our womanly roar. And roar we did last week in response to this week’s UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition.

While calling out this event, with only one in seven female speakers, I’m clear this problem is not confined to the North. I’ve also called out Westminster events organisers who, from speaker lists, seem to hold the view that women have nothing remotely useful to contribute on public service and prison reform.
