Hold SEND balances centrally or provide 'sufficient funding'

The special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) crisis should be tackled by providing ‘sufficient funding’ or by holding balances centrally instead of on council balance sheets, a chief executive has told The MJ.

A national funding gap of between £1.2bn and £1.6bn by 2021 has been estimated by the Local Government Association.
