Holyrood urged to find extra cash for Glasgow

Scotland’s finance secretary, Derek MacKay, is under renewed pressure to find additional funding for Glasgow City Council amid fears over the sustainability of the authority’s budget.

The GMB trade union this week waded into the debate, urging Mr MacKay to find fresh funding for Scotland’s largest city. The union’s organiser, Rhea Wolfson, said the GMB wants ministers to tackle the ‘chronic decline of Glasgow’.
