There is a desperate need to grow the economy. This is easier said than attained against the headwinds of spiralling inflation, an energy crisis and the knock-on effects of the pandemic.

Looking back to the platinum jubilee celebrations, for each of the past seven decades of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, all of her successive Governments have struggled to fix a stake into the vampiric issue of an unbalanced and under-productive economy.
