Interim Newport chief wins permanent role

Newport City Council has appointed Beverly Owen as its new permanent chief executive.

Ms Owen has 28 years’ experience in the sector, including at Merthyr Tydfil CC and Blaenau Gwent CBC before joining Newport in 2015 as head of regeneration, investment and housing, then becoming strategic director for place in 2016.
