Intervention ends at Reading

Government intervention in Reading Council’s children’s services has come to an end after five years.

Reading’s children’s services were rated inadequate following an Ofsted inspection in 2016, after which the authority was ordered to form an independent, not-for-profit-company to manage the department on its behalf.
